This is a 90 minute verbal consultation, inspiring you to discover the true potential of your garden through design, building or planting schemes - combining your requirements, the designer’s ideas and the advantages or limitations of the garden.
Following the initial consultation, we offer a
much sought-after service, giving you the option
of having a survey and concept plan (drawn up by
the designer on the same day). This shows graphically
how your garden can be transformed, using the ideas
discussed. This is then yours to keep and use how
you wish, whether it is to develop the design more
fully with us, or on your own.

An approximate scale drawing of the garden is necessary
to enable the optional concept plan to be drawn.
If the garden is less than 30 x 30 metres, regular
in shape and roughly level, we can usually measure
and draw the garden to scale during the initial
visit. If the garden is larger, complex in levels
or ‘overgrown’, a professional survey may be needed.

The presentation plan is the next step following the concept plan. This is where the detail, theme(s) and ‘feel’ of the garden is developed more fully; materials chosen and planting styles decided. This plan is coloured making it easy to read and imagine.
This is often drawn to a larger scale outlining
specifications as needed. For example:- measurements,
levels, elevations, cross-sections, axonometric
sketches, setting out points, ducting, key-lines
and materials.

The designer will choose plants to create the theme or effects you require, considering:
Plants may be used as a screen to enhance privacy or even to frame a view. The planting plan identifies the exact layout and number of plants specified A spreadsheet of plant numbers and indicative costs of plants is also written.
Other plans including lighting, drainage and irrigation
are sometimes required.
